Alaska

Alaska is a state of the United States in the northwestern America. The scenery of Alaska is characterized by the cold climate and the many mountains and shorelines. Like any US states, Alaska is covered by plenty of airports and air stripes.

There is many ways to see Alaska from air. For example make VFR flights from air strip to air strip (e.g. in a seaplane) or IFR flights between the state cities or interstates. A major airline is the Alaska Airlines with a main fleet of Boeing 737s.

Major cities and airports

Anchorage is the largest city in the state. The city airport, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (PANC), has a high-detailed scenery. Among its many approaches you may try the Highway Visual Rwy 25R/Seward Visual Rwy 25L.

Fairbanks. The city airport is the Fairbanks International Airport (PAFA). Somewhat untraditional there is a 5400 ft long water runway in the middle of the airport area.

Juneau is the state capital. There is no roads leading in or out of Juneau, so the only way to reach the city is via sea or air. The city airport is the Juneau International Airport (PAJN). Try one of the very difficult circle-to-land runway 26 procedures in a heavy jet (the runway has no straigt-in approaches due to obstacles).
